Bennett Engineering Services is pleased to announce the selection of the City of Lincoln Verdera North Infrastructure project as the APWA Sacramento Chapter “Project of the Year” in the Environment (Water) Category. The project provides the City of Lincoln with water to accommodate rapid growth and provides additional redundancy. Nevada Irrigation District Awards Alta Sierra Reservoir Design-Build Contract

The Nevada Irrigation District has selected the Gateway Pacific Contractors/Bennett Engineering Services design-build team to construct a 3-million-gallon water storage tank to replace the District’s Alta Sierra Reservoir. The tank will be an AWWA D110 Type I pre-stressed concrete tank with a concrete roof designed to withstand local snow loads. Construction Completed on Suisun-Solano Water Authority’s Cement Hill Pipeline

The recently completed Suisun-Solano Water Authority New Cement Hill Pipeline provides a second pipeline from the Cement Hill Water Treatment Plant to the site of two tanks, enabling the tanks to become a clear well for the treatment plant. The project included design to update the connection to the tank with an above-ground manifold, double-ball flexible expansion joints, motor-operated valves, and chlorine sampling points. Meadowview Streetscape Construction Begins

Utility workers have begun constructing poles and moving utility lines away from the sidewalk to accommodate the Meadowview Road Streetscape project. Buffered bike lanes, wider sidewalks, additional crosswalks, and vertical curbs will be added for increased safety. The streetscape includes new raised medians, drought-tolerant landscaping, enhanced paving at crosswalks, and gateway monuments. The streetscape project contributes to revitalization and beautification outlined in the 2003 Meadowview Urban Design Plan.

The project included the addition of American with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps.
