On October 27, 2024, the BEN|EN staff and friends took part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at California State University Sacramento, in partnership with the American Cancer Society. We’re thrilled to share that we exceeded our fundraising goal! BEN|EN had a blast this weekend at our annual picnic. We hosted food and fun for our employees and their loved ones! This year the theme was Carnival. We decked the park venue out with balloons and other decorations with all sorts of games! Habitat For Humanity of Greater Sacramento hosted a month-long Women Build 2024 event in March. Women from our firm joined to help the cause by painting, installing fences, and designing Habitat Playhouses. They worked hard in the cold, rainy weather. But that didn’t stop them – strong women build strong communities!
BEN|EN had a great time at Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) in late February – a collaboration between the ASCE Sacramento YMF and Sacramento State College of Engineering and Computer Science. We hope the event made a lasting impression on the curious, young women interested in learning more about engineering. It is truly rewarding to mentor potential future engineers. Bennett Engineering Services Vice President Stacey Bennett-Lynch, PE, presented “Design-Build Procurement Approaches to Water Resources Facilities” on Wednesday, November 8, at the 21st annual APWA Norcal Chapter Public Works Conference. The presentation shared design-build lessons learned from projects, including pump stations, small hydro, and water tanks, for the Nevada Irrigation District, the Cities of Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles County.
