BEN|EN is excited to announce we have won an APWA Project of the Year Award by the Sacramento Chapter for the Sports Park Drive Pedestrian Overcrossing under the Transportation category! This project is owned by City of Woodland. Our Vice President Daniel Yau was the Electrical Design Task Manager for the traffic design for this project. Thank you to our hardworking staff for bringing this project to our community!
Here is a brief description of the project (from the City’s website):
The complete project consists of the design and construction of a bicycle/pedestrian crossing over SR-113 along the alignment of Sports Park Drive to Farmers Central Road.
This project, along with planned Spring Lake development, will complete a bicycle/pedestrian connection along the south side of town from CR 102 to East Street. This pathway is planned for extension from East Street to Ashley Avenue. This will enable residents to access the existing north/south bike lane corridors throughout the City. This project provides bicycle/pedestrian access to the Community Center/Sports Park and to the growth areas on the east side of SR-113. As of early February 2024, construction has been completed and the overcrossing is open to the public. BEN|EN as a subconsultant prepared lighting design.
