APWA Award for Duncan Road and Comstock Road Roundabout

BEN|EN is excited to announce we have won a Project of the Year Award by the APWA Sacramento Chapter for the Duncan Road and Comstock Road Roundabout Project under the Transportation category! This project is owned by San Joaquin County Department of Public Works. Our Vice President Daniel Yau was the Electrical Design Task Manager for the project’s traffic design.

Here is a brief description of the project (from the San Joaquin County website):

This project constructed a roundabout on the Duncan/Comstock Road intersection. The roundabout is one lane in a rural area, featuring splitter islands to slow down vehicles and a center island with a wide truck apron for use by extra-large vehicles and equipment. The purpose of this project was to reduce collisions and crash severity in the case a collision occurs, as well as reduce traffic delays, increase capacity for large vehicle turning movements, and improve air quality. BEN|EN was a subconsultant that provided lighting design for this project.

Thank you to our hardworking staff for helping to bring this project to our community!
