Improved Traffic Operations and Safety for Motorists, Cyclists, and Pedestrians
This project aimed to enhance traffic operations and safety at the US 50/Watt Avenue interchange by converting it from a full cloverleaf design to a partial cloverleaf configuration. Improvements also included widening the Watt Avenue overcrossing, as well as the freeway on- and off-ramps. Additionally, the project featured the construction of a grade-separated multi-use pathway, providing a safe connection between areas north and south of US 50. A reversible Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane was also added along Watt Avenue within the interchange to support efficient public transit movement.
