Relieving Traffic Congestion on Hazel Avenue at the US 50 Diagonal On-Ramp
This project widened Hazel Avenue from four lanes to six lanes between Curragh Downs Drive and the US 50 interchange. The improvements included widening of the US 50 westbound diagonal on-ramp to include a High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) priority lane. The project also widened the Hazel Avenue Bridge by approximately 700 feet over the American River. The total length of this project was approximately 4,200 feet. BENEN prepared plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, signal interconnect system, decorative street and bridge lights, and ramp metering.
