Folsom Lake Bridge Crossing

Providing a Reliable Crossing Over the American River at the Folsom Dam

This project constructed a four-lane bridge over the American River, just downstream of Folsom Dam, to replace Folsom Dam Road, which had been closed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The new bridge spans more than 1,000 feet in length and was part of a larger effort that included constructing four-lane roadways at both ends of the bridge. In total, the project covers approximately 1.2 miles, providing a safer and more efficient route for local traffic.

BENEN prepared plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, a signal interconnect system, and a bridge and street lighting system.
