Traffic Control Planning for Gas Pipeline Replacements throughout Northern and Southern California
This project used hydrotesting to assess the integrity of existing gas pipelines and replaced older, potentially leaky cast iron and steel pipes with modern, more reliable materials. In total, over 2,200 miles of gas pipelines were upgraded to enhance safety and system performance. BENEN prepared plans, specifications, and cost estimates for work zone traffic control based on California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standards. The traffic control plans also included temporary traffic signal plans for intersections that were impacted by the staged construction.
