New 18-Inch Pipeline Connects Existing Water Systems during Pavement Replacement Project

The Citrus Heights Water District requested that Bennett Engineering Services operate as an extension of staff to provide the surveying, design and drafting for a water transmission main extension project using district standards. The work included the design of a new 18-inch transmission main to connect two, existing water systems in Old Auburn Road.

The project needed to be coordinated with the City of Citrus Heights Sunrise Boulevard Streetscape Project that would be under construction at the same time. Our efforts included coordinating potholing to determine a horizontal and vertical alignment to avoid impacts to utilities and coordinating with the City of Citrus Heights to identify pavement replacement responsibilities and construction sequencing between the two projects.

The design was closely coordinated with district staff to provide drawings and details that looked like they were prepared in-house using district proven-successful construction details.
