Highway 50 Pipeline Crossing

Team Acquires Caltrans Encroachment Permit for Highway 50 Pipeline Crossing

Bennett Engineering Services was selected for the design of the Highway 50 pipeline crossing. This project will require approximately 450 linear feet of 16-inch main to cross State Route 50 via jack-and-bore and approximately 600 linear feet of 12-inch main to be installed via an open cut on the North side of the highway. On the South side of the highway, approximately 300 LF of 12-inch main will be installed via open cut.

For the main to cross Highway 50, approval by Caltrans was required and an encroachment permit was needed. The team was able to expedite this process by using their knowledge and experience with Caltrans as well as their relationships with Caltrans personnel. This led to a quick turnaround and substantial cost savings to the client.
