Detached Pedestrian Path Beautifies Commercial Area and Protects Pedestrians

This project improved the aesthetics and created a unique identity for the North Auburn area in Placer County while simultaneously increasing the pedestrian and bicyclist safety. The project team worked with Placer County staff and Caltrans to design improvements for the one-mile segment that meet Caltrans standards for design and safety. 

Project elements included pedestrian, bicycle, and public transit facilities. The design featured a meandering, detached pedestrian path, and retaining walls. The team also provided right-of-way engineering for project elements within private properties and Caltrans right-of-way.
