Bennett Engineering Services is pleased to announce the City of Sacramento has selected us to complete the Franklin Boulevard Complete Street Phase 1 design, including plans, specifications, and estimate.

Bennett Engineering Services previously completed the Franklin Boulevard Complete Streets Plan, the Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) phase, and assisted the City with successful grant funding applications totaling $14.7 million.

An extensive public outreach process informed preliminary designs that address community needs. Improvements designed to improve safety include a road diet that enables separated bike lanes, additional crosswalks, intersection improvements, and ADA-compliant ramps. Pedestrian-scale lighting and wider sidewalks, separated from the street with drought-tolerant landscaping and shade trees, will create a more inviting space for pedestrians.

“The City is making a huge difference in this underserved community and historic neighborhood,” said Leo Rubio, president of the firm. “We look forward to helping the City in making this neighborhood a more enjoyable and safer place to shop and live.”
